Team 287
From our start, the William Floyd Robotics Team has been building robots, as one would expect from a robotics club. What might not be expected is the level of dedication and diversification involved with being a member. With each year, it seems that both the size of our team and the intricacy of our tasks grow.
As a high school organization we often have to bare special burdens, the largest of which is graduation. Each year we loose some of our best members... each year we must listen to horror stories of "robotics withdrawal." We rely heavily on our freshman class to join and fill the ranks. Those who do so are probably the most dedicated members of any club... I can think of no other students who willingly stay after 2.5 extra hours each school-day for 6 weeks, give up weekends and even come in during vacations to do engineering and public relations work.
Our team consist of a mix of Freshman, Sophomore, Juniors, And Seniors. We are all dedicated to the team but also know how to have fun, we try to implicate fun and craziness where ever we attend.
We have won many prestigious awards and have also had many mishaps happen to us but we stay strong and keep our head up high.
We hope our team stay throughout the year and we have many alumni that come to help us, thank you that shows your strong dedication to us any we cannot thank you more!
